Applesauce Cake Recipe


Applesauce Cake


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cups applesauce, no sugar added prefered
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Powdered sugar or glaze(optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. In large bowl, cream the butter together with the brown sugar.

3. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix the mixture well.

4. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. 

5. Fold the dry ingredients into the the creamed mixture 

6. Fold in applesauce, raisins and walnuts.

7. Pour batter into a greased and floured  (or use a flour cooking spray) loaf pan and bake until firm to the touch, about 40 to 45 minutes. 

8. After cooled you may dust with powered sugar or drizzle with glaze if desired.
