Walkers Shortbread Festive Shapes

If your looking for a fast, fun, and festive cookie decorating activity for the kids this year, this one might be for you. We took one can of generic icing, yes generic, some food colorings, sprinkles, and a box of Walkers Shortbread Festive Shapes and it made for a great little activity for the kids. First I took the cookies out of the package (Shapes are Santa Clause, Christmas Trees, Stars, and Bells):

Then I separated the icing into three bowls and added red dye to one, green to one, and yellow to the finial bowl and mixed the icings until they were the desired color. I put the icings on the table with thin spatulas and spoons, along with the cookies and sprinkles and told the kids to get creative. This is what my kids came up with.

They really enjoyed this festive project and they loved the taste of the cookies too. The cookies are firm but taste buttery (but doesn't overdo it) and flaky. Just an idea for your kids this Holiday Season.

*Disclosure: I received a free box of cookies to help with this post. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
